European Partnership for Researchers

A partnership for excellence

In May 2008, the European Commission published a
Communication entitled Better careers and more
mobility:a European Partnership for Researchers
(COM (2008)317)
to create a framework for joint
priority actions.

The Commission plans to conclude a three-year
‘partnership for researchers’ with the Council and
Member States.

Four priority points were selected for national
action plans:

  • systematically open recruitment;
  • meeting the social security and supplementary
    pensions needs of mobile researchers;
  • providing attractive employment and working
    conditions; and
  • enhancing the training, skills and experience of researchers.

Flanders also contributes to the European Partnership for Researchers.
